Kim was installed as President of the Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha at the Club's changeover meeting on July 7. Born and raised in Guelph, Ontario, Kim attended the University of Guelph where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science.
Kim joined the Ontario Public Service in 2002 in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. With a love and appreciation for the incredible depth and breadth of natural resource management, Kim's work focuses on building positive and cooperative relationships with Indigenous communities, in a spirit of reconciliation.
As part of her role with the Ministry, Kim has lived across Ontario, including in the town of Nipigon, where she was invited to join the Rotary Club of Nipigon. Upon her return to Peterborough in 2012 she rejoined the Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha. Rotary brings together fellowship and service – and for Kim, Rotary offers that opportunity to work side by side with other like minded people, to do good in the world. She and her partner Dave are living life to the fullest – spending time at their off-grid camp fishing and hanging out by the campfire.
For 2022-23, Imagine Rotary will serve as our guiding theme, where Rotarians and like minded people are encouraged, in the words of Rotary President Jennifer Jones to "Imagine, a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference."
